ix, 119pp, with colour illustrations throughout. Brown cloth-covered boards; gilt borders on front, gilt titles on front and spine; brown endpapers. Landscape 8vo. . Boards soiled. Spine ends lightly rubbed. Corners rubbed and rounded with cloth worn through and fraying. Top text block edge foxed. Bowed. Gift inscription on front pastedown endpaper, water stain on pastedowns. Occasional light soiling, tanning and foxing throughout. Dust jacket spine worn and soiled, heavy chipping along heel, <1cm closed tear and tape adhered to head; covers price-clipped, soiled and with a lot of tape adhered, section of loss at top of front flap; interior soiled with more tape adhered; water staining to bottom edges. Flowers collected and painted in the summer evenings of 1873 from English meadows and commons.
