Billy Bunter's Own (1953-55, 3 volumes)

Three volumes of Billy Bunter's Own annuals from 1953, 1954 and 1955. The 1953 volume was the first Billy Bunter's Own and includes tales of the Rio Kid; the Felgate Fellows make their first appearance outside of Raymond Glendenning's annual and we renew acquaintance with the School for Slackers; Billy Bunter himself takes up most of the volume. Illustrated with chapter heading line drawings. The other two volumes follow a similar format. The 1953 volume has pale blue boards with black titles. Boards are clean and sharp. Internally there's a hint of toning, especially on endpapers. The dust jacket is a little rubbed at edges with minor loss at base of spine. The 1954 volume has bright, clean and sharp boards, with a small indentation on the lower edge and a previous owner's name on the front endpaper, else is internally neat, clean and bright. The dust jacket is bright and attractive, with just a little rubbing at base of spine and minor shelf wear. The 1955 volume again is in clean and bright boards, with a previous owner's name on the front endpaper, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. It includes monochrome plate illustrations by Harold Skinner. The dust jacket (which is lovely) is bright some minor marking and very light bumping along edges. Dust jacket illustrations on all three volumes by C H Chapman. Three lovely volumes for Billy Bunter fans. All three dust jackets are now protected in archival quality mylar wrappers which prolong the life of the paper, keeps them clean and protects them from damage. The mylar wrappers are not adhered to the book or to the dust jacket. Large and heavy set which may require an additional charge for delivery outside the UK. 4t0
