People's edition. 28th thousand. 174pp. Green cloth boards with two colour illustration (worn, soiled, fraying at corners and spine tips and rear spine fold, pencil marks on rear). Tissue-guarded frontispiece and 41 further illustrations (one a little coloured), all by Sir John Tenniel. Previous owner's name on endpaper, tissue-guard tanned with small hole, some minor tanning to page edges and very occasional spotting. One leaf partially detached (fixable). Gutter between rear endpapers cracked. A scarce and sought-after edition of the timeless children's classic with Tenniel's illustrations, now ubiquitous with Alice. Collectible edition, this volume not really collectible condition, unless as a filler.
