📖 Description
1st Edition. Not dated but 1921. 258pp. 6 monochrome plate illustrations by Treyer Evans. Decorated, pale green cloth boards (lightly rounded at corners and spine tips, a few small mild marks). Endpapers toned, else internally neat and clean. Some booksellers claim that the Treyer illustrations are from 1930, and that true firsts of this title have illustrations by H L Bacon. We do not believe this to be the case, not least because this volume, with Evans' illustrations, has a prize plate on the front paste down dated 1923. The book was awarded to one Evelyn Wheeler by the Walthamstow Education Committee for good conduct and sound progress at the W Morris Girl's School.
