Not dated but c 1950. Edition unclear but likely a second state dust jacket. 288pp. Blue cloth boards (rubbed and faded at edges, rounded at corners and spine ends, a few marks). Lending sheet on front endpaper, else no other library markings. Old tape repair to first gutter. Occasional spotting. In its original dust jacket (rubbed and frayed at edges, crease on sunned spine, worn, shelf wear, old internal tape reinforcements). Dust jacket now in archival-quality mylar wrapper to protect & prolong the life of the jacket. It is not adhered to the book or to the jacket. Issued as part of Hutchinson's 'best value in publishing' series. Portrays with potency the careless sparkle of the devotees of a cocktail bar, thrown together like the ingredients of a cocktail.
