Georgette Heyer, an English novelist and short story writer, effectively established the historical romance genre and its sub-genre of Regency Romances. She has remained popular among readers since the publication of her first novel, The Black Month, in 1921. Although perhaps best known (and collected) for her Regency Romances, which were written with great attention to historical detail, she also wrote thrillers and detective fiction. The uniform edition of there novels, published by Heinemann in the 1960s comprised 29 novels in total.
