Dust jacket has light shelf wear, chipping to edges, mirrors book damage.  Author not identified in volume but authorship verified as Ernest George Spater from British Library catalogue.  An unusual and quirly true story about the contents of a box owned by the Palladium Life Assurance Society, Swansea.
