📖 Description

xciv, 158pp plus 206 pages of plate illustrations, some in colour. Maps, charts and drawings, all beautifully made. Grey buckram binding (an alternative edition was produced in a red cloth, without colour images and two colour printing). Strong and sharp boards with extensive gilt lettering and decoration. The front free endpaper has a warped patch and mark, consistent with the clumsy removal of a bookplate or label, else very good condition throughout.
