Charles Albert d'Arnoux, who used the pseudonym Bertall, was a French illustrator, cartoonist and writer. Known as one of the most prolific illustrators of the 19th century and a pioneer of photography. Bertall illustrated works by Balzac, Dumas, Cooper and Perrault, and many others.
