📖 Description
First, and likely only, edition. 236pp, lightly illustrated. Black cloth-covered boards with gilt titles to spine (there are two small marks on the boards where the tape used to hold the folds on the mylar wrapper have marked, else boards clean, fresh and sharp. Some ex-library signs, a little rusting and book sale stamp, on front endpapers and stamp on copyright page, neat ownership stamp on first page. In its original dust jacket, now protected in an adhesive Mylar wrapper. An insightful study of censorship in public libraries, drawing distinctions from other forms of censorship. With chapters on, for instance, war time censorship, the P G Wodehouse Affair 1940-47, and the Enid Blyton Affair of the 1960s. An important and now very hard to find volume.
