📖 Description
Not dated but circa 1905. A new and enlarged edition (following the first edition of 1900). ix, followed by 24 coloured plates, each with descriptive text opposite. In green cloth-covered boards with black lettering to front and spine (boards rubbed at edges, right through on corners and spine tips, spine worn, and perhaps a tad faded). Some mild spotting and mild marginal toning. Gutter cracked and loosening between front endpapers and title page. The last leaf of the book contains adverts for other publications from the publisher - it is chipped along gutter and the lower inch has been roughly removed. A scarce and sought after title, its hand-coloured plates and clear annotations its strongest attraction. Yeats, an art teacher, published several books and was the founder of Dun Emer Press, which also published several works by her brother, the Irish poet, W B Yeats. She was the first commercial printer in Ireland to work exclusively with hand presses. Landscape 4to.
